It is the user account control window that causes nvda to say secure
desktop. Hit shift-tab, then enter and it should work.

Dear list
I am normally an XP Pro user as I had Vista taken off my machine.
However I am trying to assist someone who has a Vista laptop by installing
the NVDA screenreader and other free programs like Real Alternative and
Webbie.
However there is obviously a security setting in Vista which will not allow
me to install programs.
I have managed to get a portable version of NVDA working but every time I
try to install a program NVDA announces secure Desktop and stops working.
I can vaguely see that a window has come up but I cannot use any command to
read what is in the window.
Pressing alt F4 closes the Window and NVDA instantly starts working again.
How can I persuade Vista that I have administration rights and let me
install a program?
Thanks for any help.
