Hi Pete,
Go to My Computer, and then arrow to your cd drive.
Next, go to the file menu, and select properties and hit enter.
When the properties dialogue opens, you will be on the general tab, so
move to the auto-play tab.
Here you can select the actions that you want the drive to perform when a
disk is inserted into it.
After changing an action for a type of disk, make sure to press the apply
button to save the changes before moving to the next type, and okay
button.
HTH,
Rick Justice

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Terminating Windows Media Player
Hello all. I use Winamp almost exclusively. However, whenever I insert a
disc in to my computer, Windows Media Player comes up and starts copying
the files from the CD to my hard-drive. I do not want this to happen by
default. How do I prevent Windows Media player from doing this.
Incidentally, I have Windows Media Player version 9 on my computer. Any
help, as always, is much appreciated.
Pete
