Hello, Richard:
Welcome to our group.
If you have a borrowing subscription with "recordings for the blind", you'll
find many excellent books on almost any phase of the computer field.
They have several on programming, with Basic well represented.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Programming for the totally blind
Hello,
This is my first time using the site. Please allow for a novice and
someone
just feeling his way around.
Years ago, I had a great computer that was designed for the blind. It was
called The Eureka A4 and it was great. One application was called "Basic
Interpreter" and it both taught and allowed one to actually write programs
in basic. I really enjoyed the programming. Now that I have moved on to a
standard desk computer, use JAWS 10 and would like to play around with
programming again; where can I begin and can I use what is already in
place
on most desk top types of computers to work? Being totally blind, I feel
that this avenue may be my best place to get a start. Thanks in advance,
Rich S.
