My turtle beach crackles often enough as well but it didn't start until well 
after the grace period elapse of course.

Hi Lino!

Thanks so much for the offer of help but I think I'll just exchange this for
another model. I've been through all the different speaker, sound, driver,
and power settings but the intermittent crackling is still there. It is
really a driver issue but I don't think I'm willing to wait for a fix. Too
bad cause the specs on this laptop is really great.
