that installed something odd.
You can try what worked for me  as you can reverse the process and go back
to your current situation easily.
In the folder:
c:\windows\system32
is a file called:
dwmapi.dll
Highlight that file and rename it by pressing F2 to something else such as
dwmapi.dll.bak
Hopefully that will fix things for you like it did here.

when i try to open a message in windows live or a page in fire fox i get
MsnMsgr.Exe - Entry Point Not Found The procedure entry point
