Hit enter on a message so it'll open in the normal message dialogue, then you can either try reading relatively simple HTML mails therein, or else, hit the Alt key (you might first need to try moving around a bit since it doesn't always make anything happen), wait until you hear something about the message tab, hit the H key to activate it, wait a second or so, hit the X key, wait another second and then hit the V key and it should open up in in internet explorer.
