Excel works very easy without having to set anything up in the program. You can either tab across the row from one cell to the next, or you can use the right/left arrow keys. Jaws key and #8 reads the current line, up/down arrow moves you in that direction and Jaws says what it's landing on. Of course there are more keys to do more things within Excel, but just for reading something, these keys do the job just fine. I've never had any problems using Excel starting with Jaws 3.7 and Excel 2000, I currently use 2003 and can't tell any difference. If your unsure as to what Excel looks like, think of it as a grid pattern, with horizontal and vertical lines. You can save an Excel spreadsheet into Word, but it will turn it into columns and tables. Which basically is like Excel except the navigation keys are much different.
