I am getting a netbook for Christmas. This is a miniature laptop and has the usual laptop features, but most also come with inbuilt Bluetooth. Operating Systems preinstalled are usually Windows XP, but some are now shipping with Windows 7 in favour of the new Microsoft OS. Netbooks usually have a not so powerful processor (Intel Atom) compared to an average laptop. Netbooks however do have an extensive battery life. For example, on the one I will be getting it is expected to have up to 8.5 hours battery life (probably 7 if I am going to use speech full time). This is a much improved feature compared to 2 or 3 hours on a laptop. Hope this all helps.
