Hi David, Cutting the wires not only made it boot up more quietly, the sound of silence almost blew the wax out of my ears! I began to think that Jaws had laryngitis but, I now have clear sinuses & clean ears. LOL After splicing the wires back together I found out that the problem was a driver issue and rolling back the drivers through the device manager fixed the problem. All kidding aside it was just a matter of rolling back the drivers and had nothing to do with the KVM switch. Take care. Mike

Like I said though cutting the wires would make it boot up more quietly. Check out your master volume control and see if the wave level is set low compared to the master control. The volume doesn't blare on the other machine upon Windows start up. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can stop this volume blaring problem? I am running XPSP3 Home & Jaws 10/11 on the main machine and the secondary computer is running XP Pro & Window Eyes. All the volume settings are fine but, this problem only occurs upon Windows start up on the 1 machine. My ears will be eternally grateful if anyone has a resolution to this sinus clearing problem. Thanks much. Take care.
