Send them invitations.  I do believe that these sites provide a process for
inviting people to join.  You might loose a large percentage of your people
in the process ... people don't want to change.  But if you have loyal
devoted followers, they should all come over.   Another disadvantage is that
these groups are prone to pick up spammers.  But you can control that by
limiting who can post to the group.  Alternatively you could switch ISPs,
curtailing distribution lists seems a bit draconian to me.
