Hi Rick, even though I uninstalled the Benq drivers and software, it stil
show up as the only scanner in both Kurtzweil and Openbook even when printer
is powered up and rady to go. It prints well and can make copies of document
when the computer is off. So the scanning abilities of the machine is
working, but this would be useless since I want to scann books related to my
job.
I am not subscribed to the openbook mailinglist, but will have too consider
it. Thanks for offering to help and if you could come up with any other
reson why it is not performing as I want it to, or have any further
suggestions I would be very appreciative of your help or from any other on
this list of knowledgeable people.

Hi Steve,
Of course, make sure it is plugged in and on,
and look at which scanners show as available within Openbook.
It may show up as one that isn't real ovvious.
I had an HP all-in-one once that had a document feeder,
and that is the only one that Openbook would use,
although the machine showed up as 2 different scanners.
You might try asking on the Openbook list,on this domain,
and see if anyone there has any more suggestions.

Hello friends and season greetings to all;
I purchased an HP printer some weeks ago, and installed it. Its an
all-in-one. Everything seems to be working, but can't seem to get it to
scan. I admit that I am not doing what I should do, but I saw no

software while browsing the CD for any additional software that would
