My point was that this discussion was becoming a bit less than a friendly 
debate and heading toward harshness. The functions and features of such 
services are perfectly fine for this list list. The problem is when it 
started to become an argument and taking an adversarial tone. Why a person 
uses such a service is their own business.

Sorry, but, I have heard the argument one absolutely must have a land line
in many forums.  Many blind and elderly are on fixed incomes, and must
parcel out their funds.  Should the other side not be brought up because
doing so might be called debating?  While discussing this topic no one has
flamed another.  I just thought we were pointing out different aspects of
the advantages and the disadvantages of this particular product.  I really
don't care one way or other.  You can just keep your land lines.  Or pay
vonage 20 dollars a month or there about.  But, adjustments can be made to
not having a land line and not having a land line ought to be considered as
a viable choice.  Rather than to be scoffed at because it is unorthodox.
