Hi Pete. The way I did it in XP, I hit the start menu, went to programs, then accessories, and then to volume. While volume was highlighted I hit the applications key and arrowed down to properties and hit enter. I then did a control-tab over to shortcut. Then I tabbed down to the shortcut hot key edit field. I then, in my own case, pressed the hot key combination of control alt v. Then I tabbed down to Okay. Presto! Then control alt v would bring up my volume control panel. HTH.
