I have a set of bluetooth headphones that let me plug their transmitter into
my computer and then up to around 20m away, the headphones will work, but
they don't have any form of internal input/output, and they only seem to be
able to connect to each other since no other bluetooth devices see them as
such.
I think, in the past you also got a short range radio transmitter which
would let you plug it into the output jack on your computer and then within
something like 50-150m range, you could pick up it's output on a somewhat
limited radio transmission frequency, but wouldn't know where to look for
something like this.
The closest had back in 2005 was effectively, an MP3 player you loaded music
onto, then when you plugged it into your car's cigarette lighter for power,
it would play the music broadcasting it on something like 88.2MHz for you to
pick it up internally on the car's radio, and I think they said it had
something like a 15m transmission radius.
Stay well

David,
I think you are right. I'm wondering if there is something
one could purchase to plug into an auxiliary input on a
stereo that could be successfully paired with the blue tooth
transmitting device?

I believe it can only be received on a blue tooth compatible
device.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Blue Tooth Connectivity
I'm looking for some ideas on how to accomplish the
following. I have a USB device that can plug into my
computer that transmits a blue tooth signal. I know I can
pick up a pair of headphones to work with this but is it
possible to pick this signal up around the house on either a
portable A M/FM radio or my home stereo system? If so, what
would I need and what is the process. Thanks in advance for
all input.
