Hi John,

Thank you very much for letting know what to do. unfortunally, I do not have the CD for the student version because when I bought the computer that program was already on it. I try to uninstall it using the remove feature but it did not work. I do not know what else to do. Thank you very much anyway for your help.

Be well.

Miss Perez. I believe that you will have to uninstall the student version
before the professional software will work. What you now have is a conflict
and Windows doesn't know which version to use when opening documents. You
still have the disks for both programs. I suggest that you off-load the
student version. In fact, you may have to uninstall both of them, then
re-install the professional version.

I seem to remember that you can't have two Word programs of the same type
running on one computer, simultaneously.

Hi ,

I have installed Microsoft Word on my HP computer and I am not able to
save or open files. My computer came with trial version of Microsoft home
student and I installed the professional version. I am using Windows

I did find one item that seems to make Windows Live Mail work better with
Jaws. I posted a note about it but just in case, here's what I discovered.

1. Go to the View menu by pressing Alt V.
2. Press L for the Layout menu. Tab to the "
Message Pane" check box and remove the check by pressing the space bar.
3. Go to the Okay button and press Enter to save your changes.

Many of the scripts set up for Outlook Express do work on Windows Live Mail
but not all of them do.
The Go To Folder script Control Y will open the list of folders but you
can't use first letter navigation to go directly to the folder.
There may be a setting for that but I haven't found it, yet.

As for the rest of Windows 7, I have found it a bit strange after XP but
I'm getting used to it.
In the words of one of our moderators, hope this helps or HTH.

Treetings:

I'm in search of information about how to make using JAWS 11 and Windows 7
work better.

For instance, I am finding that the default mail program and JAWS 11 don't
work as smoothly as Windows XP and outlook express.

I need to install Office 2003 on this new computer and am considering
seriously about using Outlook instead.

If anyone has come across any good info on how to get JAWS to play better
with Windows 7 I'd appreciate hearing from you.

That's right. And you can access the book shelf by holding down the

Hi,

First, make sure nothing is on your flash drive. After downloading the
book, extract the file to your drive. Now all the extracted files should
be
on your flash drive. If you put your flash drive in the usb port on the
player, it should tell you the title of the book. Only have one book on
your drive. You can always put the second book on there when you are
ready
to use it. There should always be only one book at a time on the flash
drive.

Hi,

I have a tidbit from nls. When you try to install the upgrade,
the file
name "upgrade will be on your flash drive. If you want to hear
the serial
number spoken and the current firmware version, press the sleep
button 10
times. I don't know if this applies to the advanced players.

Hi Mike,

Thanks so much for your instructions, I've almost got my system tray
under control. I am wondering, though, what I did to cause the start
button and a system tray button to appear in the system tray. Maybe
I did too good of a job on the tray.

Thanks,

Just be aware that there is a new range, the DM2 and 4 in North America and
the 3 & 5 in the UK, if I have the initial letters correct and the 3/5 and
2/4 the right way round! As I understand it, they are available now in
North America and due for release in the UK in June.

The functionality using speech has improved so that there is even more
speech feedback and the higher spec model includes TTS from .txt files. You might want to investigate these before shelling out on the older models - I
have one on back order as I was about to replace my old DS40... Olympus
have promised that they are also working on making the Sonority software
accessible using a screen reader as they are pusing the DVRs as
VI-friendly - although I haven't tried using the current iteration of the
software with JFW...
