Hi Donnie,
If I'm not mistaken, the Passport drive does not have an external power supply,
and therefore relies on the USB connection to supply power to it.
While these drives are great for portability, they aren't the fastest kids on the block.
Internal drives always have a faster file transfer rate than USB.
HTH,
Rick Justice

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Unzipping Folders

Using the 7 Zip program, it normally takes about 30 seconds to unzip a folder which is saved on the C Drive of my computer. I am now starting to put some stuff onto an external hard drive, and I am finding it takes anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes to unzip folders there. Is this normal for an external hard drive, or, am I doing something wrong? The external hard drive that I am using is
called "Passport".

Thanks,
Donnie
