Yes, Time Warner has what they call a "life line" program. Though why it is called that I will never know. As cable service isn't essential for anyone's living. It gives me the bare minimum of cable service. Which is 24 or so channels. I got it originally, as I didn't want to purchase one of those converter boxes. I live alone and didn't know how much assistance would be required with its setting up. I watch very little television. So, I was glad to save the money. What I am doing now is to pay on my cellular bill ahead so, if I should ever want to leave the company, Verizon will either want to negotiate the price of a new phone, or data plan, or will have to give me a phone without contract, or will have to reimburse me a hell of a lot of money if I switched cellular companies. After all, they make those with cellular contracts pay for early termination. Why shouldn't they have to take a little of their own medicine? I am doing the same with cable, and my internet provider. So, if I should want to upgrade it won't cost anything up front. Or, should I need to spend money on other things, such as my car, I have to get it made safe for e-check, and have new tags put on it this year, I won't have to pay the companies for a few months till my equipoise is regained. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Stewart A Overbey, Jr." <[email protected]>

I still am satisfied with magic Jack as my sole telephone service save for my cellular service. I have been so since 08. All I can advise is that you give it a try. You can always return it before 30 days if you aren't satisfied. I paid 60 dollars for a five year license. I now only pay 20 dollars monthly for my internet service, and 10 dollars monthly for cable service. You can't beat that with a white stick I say. ----- Original Message ----- From: "eden" <[email protected]>

I am not one to but in, but magicjack is horrible. We had it, and we are both blind and had no trouble setting it up. The problem comes later when you can hear people but your upload speed isn't good enough and other speople say you are breaking up. Expense is certainly a reason to do it, but we wasted our money. It worked for a month, and then we had all kinds of problems and had to pay reconnection fees for comcast.

Hello all.
I think I'm finally going to take the plunge and check out Magicjack.
I was just wondering if there will be any accessibility issues with setting it up?
I am running Jaws 11 with IE8 under Windows XP home.
Any info would be appreciated. I've seen it at a friend's house, but she had sighted help setting it up and that's sometimes a bit hard to come by around here.
Thanks.
