While you're waiting for your player, check out the FAQs page on the BARD
Talk web page which explains everything you need to know about the new
player and how to download books and magazines. You might even want to join
the BARD Talk email list to discuss the player and other aspects of the NLS
Digital Talking Book program.

Thank you Lois,
I'll just wait for the player and keep your email in case I need any
further help.

You will get a user manual on the player itself. If you just turn it on
without a thumb drive or cartridge in it you will hear what the different
keys do. If you have any more questions I can help you off list.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Where to get instructions for the NLS
DigitalPlayer
Hello everyone,
I was just informed that I am about to receive the Digital Player from
the NLS. I can't find any instructions at all on the NLS web site on how
the player operates. It tells me how to download a book, get it on to a
blank cartridge to put in the player, but nothing about how to operate
the player itself.
Over the months I've seen a few postings about the digital player on
this list and saved them because I knew I would eventually receive a
player, but I know there are a lot of features of the player that I'll
want to get used to.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to get a tutorial or some
instructions on the player?
Thanks,
Ken
