I am using XP and Win Xp word. I tried all your suggestions, with no
success. Is ther a Jaws setting that could be over-riding. I even tried
"Past as hyperlink", but I get no paste at all, yet I can just "Past" or
CTRL+v and the URl will paste, but no link.

Which version of MS Word are you using?
Otherwise this behaviour is automatic: there are no special settings.
I suggest that you check the document view you are using: make it either
Print View or Web View.
You can also try doing the same action by using menu items instead of hot
keys and see what happens.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] URL not linking in word
When I type a URL (web address) or E-mail address in a .doc (MicroSoft
Word), a link is not automaticly created, even upon saving. The CTRL+k
feature does not create a link, as well.
What is the setting that activates this feature?
