once your home page has loaded and you can surf the net or look through your
favourites then press the menu key first one to the left of the space bar
and arrow down to where it says send to
this is a sub menu and somewhere in the sub menu choices is one called short
cut to desktop
it is a way down the list so will take a moment or two
once you locate the shortcut to desktop press enter
this should work

hello there;
give this a try;
1, desktop,
make sure there's nothing selected, by pressing the f5-key,
2, alt+enter=display properties,
3, now, shift+tab=themes tab,
4, right arrow one time, you should hear, desktop tab,
5, now tab and enter on,
customize desktop,
6, tab one time, and find the internet explorer icon, and make sure it's
checked.
now just tab, to the okay button.
hope this helps.
