I saw that it was a radio button but then it slipped my mind. So I'll make the proper corrections, thank you.

John and David,

Actually, I made two mistakes in the instructions to set up profiles. They
don't stop it from working, but they are wrong.

The "Prompt for Profiles" part is not a check box, as I thought, it is a
radio button, so you don't have to hit spacebar, just tab away. Also, Mail
Setup will immediately ask you for the details of you email address, etc.
once you are done setting up the profile. Corrected it looks like this:

1. Go to the Control Panel
2. Select Mail
3. In the Mail Setup window that opens, tab to Show Profiles. You should
only have one profile listed, probably named Outlook.
4. Tab to the Add button, press Enter, and enter the name you want for this
profile. Then press Enter.
5. Tab to Prompt for Profile radio button. If you don't automatically land
on it (and instead land on "Always use this profile"), press the up arrow to
get to it. Otherwise you won't get a choice when you load up Outlook.
6. Tab to the OK button and press Enter and you are done. Now you will be
required to enter the email details.

Sorry about the errors. Hope I didn't make any this time. But you never know
with me.

Martin

David, it's great! After you create the different profiles and you make
sure that a checkbox indicating "prompt for profiles" is checked, when you
open up Outlook, you have the list of profiles and all you have to do is
choose which one by pressing Enter on it.

The instructions seem to be quite clearly detailed and they will most likely
end up on the tips and tricks page some fine day. Actually I always wanted
to know how to do that but never took the time to figure it out.

it crtainly does, Martin. I'm going to study this message and then
try doing exactly what you have indicated. Thanks very much.
Someone had mentioned profiles earlier but didn't give me the step by
step.

Hi John there is a way to do it using Mail Profiles.

1. Go to the Control Panel
2. Select Mail
3. In the Mail Setup window that opens, tab to Show Profiles. You
should only have one profile listed, probably named Outlook.
4. Tab to the Add button, press Enter, and enter the name you want
for this profile. Then press Enter.
5. Tab to Prompt for Profile to be used and press the spacebar.
Otherwise you won't get a choice when you load up Outlook.
6. Tab to the OK button and press Enter and you are done.

Now when you load up Outlook it will prompt you which profile to use.
The first time you use the new profile, Outlook will ask you to set up
email.
I
think you already know this part, correct me if I'm wrong.

There is no way "on the fly" to switch between profiles. You have to
exit Outlook and reenter it and choose a different profile.

Hope that helps.

Martin

Deb,
I have to be missing something. I tried your instructions and I
can't seem to access the second account at all.

The command for accessing the Tools menu is Alt T, then I went to the
letter A and followed the steps to add a new account.
No problem there.
but I can't seeme to be able to locate that second e-mail account or
switch from one to the other.
Am I dumb or what? I just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.
I want the second account to be completely unique from my primary
account.
I want it to have separate folder listings and so on. I tried
accessing that account but based on the folder list, I'm still in the
original.
It looks as though all Outlook did was to duplicate the accounts.
Sorry Deb, but I'm just not getting this. I appreciate your help but
I need

more.

Insert t for tools menue. Hit the letter A for Create e-mail
account and follow the prompts. After you have entered all your
information and are creating an e-mail, hit Alt N to choose from
which account you want to send the e-mail. Hope this helps.

I'm using Outlook 2003, Windows 7 Professional and Jaws for Windows,
latest build.
Here is my problem.
I have 3 completely different e-mail accounts. All of them are on
Verizon but each has its own distinct e-mail identity and password.
With that in mind, I am requesting step by step instructions for
creating separate e-mail identities using Outlook 2003.

Once that is done, I'd like to know how to move from one identity to
the other.
I'd sincerely appreciate assistance from someone using this program.
If one of the list members is using Outlook 2007, that will probably
not make any difference since they are very similar.
