It is, and much more. I have The bx moddle, and I love it. There many things that make it surpass the brail and speak. It has pockit Jaws on it for voice output, and braildisplay that is remooviable to conect with your computer. It also sinks with the computer like a pompilit. Look on there websight for the leenk for products and the newone is the Packmate omney which I don't have one of those. Good luck
