[Blind-Computing] ie8 and google accessable search

Hello, I have google accessable search as my home page however, I keep 
having to restart the page at least twice in order to make the edit field 
show up.  I have compatibility view enabled.  Is there something I am 
missing or should I just use a different google site?  The site I am using:
