Has it done it more than once, and is it a laptop, or a desktop PC?

Just wondering since if a laptop, it could also be a possible hardware issue related to battery etc., but alternatively, my windows XP machine, when it gets unstable sometimes restarts itsself...not a good sign...LOL!

Stay well

Subject: [Blind-Computing] a friend's computer is going into shutdown mode

Hi, everyone,

Last night I was helping a friend add addresses in to his MS outlook address book. He and his wife are friends who live in Maine. Anyway, we were doing the address and suddenly his computer went into shutdown mode. I asked my nephew today if it was possible if there could be a virus and he said yes. Are there other things that could make a computer go into shutdown mode?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Rosemarie
