Hello Mel. First of all the serial number is written in braille on the cd cover. This can also be found by going into about in help of the any version of jaws you have authorized on your computer. This however is not the code you need to authorize it. It is only the one to bring up your account with fs. You can go onto the fs website and go into authorization section. Check for available updates I believe it is. You can then generate a code that is what is given to you to authorize jaws. You will need the serial number and lock in code which you can get from the jaws help about screen. Also what is the latest version of jaws that you are authorized to get? on the latest one you are authorized for in about in help sub menu listen for how many upgrades you have left.
