Yes most email providers will scan email for viruses. However they
cannot filter any viruses you will catch from downloading infected
files, visiting infected web sites, clicking on links in emails, etc. So
the short answer is Yes they do and No they won't

Subject: [Blind-Computing] One Reason I like my A T and T ISP

Hello Friends,
One reason I really like my A T and T ISP is because they have a anti
virus scanning system in place that catches just about every virus that
would come into my computer before my AVG even gets a chance to!!

I receive messages like this:
- -
Your AT&T Yahoo! Mail Virus Protection detected the virus 'Malformed
container violation' in the file 'NORTHBOU.dat', attached to the
enclosed email message. We scanned the file using Norton AntiVirus but
were unable to clean it. Therefore, we removed the content of the
attachment from the message. Please contact the message sender if you
want to receive the attachment. They must clean the file and resend it
before we can deliver it to you safely.

My question is:
Do other ISP providers have anti virus protection?
And if so, do they catch most viruses before they even reach your
computer?

With Best Regards,
Alan

AT&T Yahoo! Mail successfully cleans most infected attachments, which
protects you from viruses.
