Not necessarily true. This is not happening to me. I believe the HomePage is 
the same it has always been if you go into preferences and enable or disable 
the instant search.

Google apparently changed their classic home page, so now when you type a
search phrase into the search field, Google initiates a search before you
finish typing.  This is okay for sighted users, but can be really annoying
for screen reader users.  That's why you periodically hear Google announce
something like "Screen readers click here to turn off instant search."
