It isn't something that you have to do unless you're trying to recover your system from an external drive instead of optical media. The problem with that method is that it is not blind friendly at all. I found out after creating such a disk myself. I just downloaded the trial version. One of the default install options is to create a dos recovery disc. Is this necessary?
