Not true at all. In the past I would only need 2 DVD-r disks to backup my Windows XP computer. I would name my images after types of cars, types of fruit, and other categories. I would then label my disks Mustang1 and Mustang2. Now in the age of Windows7 I use dual layer DVDs and still use on the average 2 DVD-rs. Like I said before, I make an image on to DVD-r biweekly and in the interim I make images to external hard drives. With some creativity there is always a way around a problem. But the problem with optical media is that you may need a hell of a lot of disks to hold the drive image, which could get real messy.
