Hi Yvonne,
Here are the steps for Outlook Express.
Select the message with the attachment, and open the message.
Next, go to the file menu and arrow to save attachments and hit enter.
You tab thru this dialogue,and save the attachment to a location of your
choice.
Once the attachment has been saved, you can then go to that location, locate
the file and hit enter.
The file should open in either Windows Picture and Fax Viewer, or Microsoft
Paint, depending on what is available on your system.

i had a jpeg sent to me and i am wondering how to do the following
1 save the attachment which of course is the photograph
2 open the jpeg attachment to ask someone to describe it
can anyone help with telling me how to do these?
