Yes, but technically it doesn't need a special software to open this, just press enter and it's opened. So this lady just needs to enter on this folder, because the so called extension is just a part of the folder name and doesn't associate the folder with any software as the file extensions do.

Folders can follow the same naming conventions as files to put it simply.
You could have a folder books.mp3 and a folder books.txt denoting what type of file is in each folder. Just another little trick that isn't widely known
folks is all.

This is something new for my ears. Would you shed more light on this?

Don't think folders have extensions at all.

There in fact is no such extension at least to my knowledge of .R. I
agree
with Mr. Mike of course he's been in therapy for so long who knows how
Dr.
Phil has him programmed.

Hi Kathy;

Is the extension " .R " or, is it " .RAR ?" Personally, I've never heard
of
a " .R " file extension but, with all the time I spend on Doctor Phil's
couch there are a lot of things I've missed! LOL

Seriously, if it is a " .RAR " file extension you can download a program
called 7Zip,using the download link below.

Hope this helps.  Take care.
Mike
