Dear Mike,
Would these be the same steps for a regular desk top computer?
And is that the same resolution one should have?
Thank you kindly.
With Best Regards,

Hi Candy;
I totally screwed up in my last post giving you steps for setting your
resolution. In step #4, I said to go to the settings tab & press enter.
Do
not press enter, just tab once you are on the settings tab. If you press
enter, the display properties will close. Also, these steps are for XP.
Sorry for the screw up! Take care.
Mike

Hi Candy;
To set your resolution to Jaws specifications to the following.
1. Open the control panel.
2. Arrow down to display & press enter.
3. When display opens it will open on the Themes tab, shift tab 1 time to
hear Themes tab.
4. You can control + tab, until you land on Settings tab, or right arrow
to
Settings tab, & press enter.
5. Now tab, I believe 3 times, & you should hear, Screen Resolution, left
right slider. This number should be 1024 by 768 pixels. If your setting
is
not that, arrow up or down until you find the correct setting.
6. Tab to apply, press spacebar, & say yes to the changes if changes were
made.
Hope this helps. Take care.
Mike

Subject: [Blind-Computing] very unusual problem with my computer screen
Hello everyone,
My desk top computer is on its last legs, but I am trying to use it
until
it dies. It wouldn't work at all and then my husband opened it and
vacumedthe inside. It does come on now. In fact, I am writing this
email
on it. The problem is this. The monitor does not come on, and the
problem
is not exactly in the monitor per say. When I burn a CD or do things
like
that, I try to use my jaws curser, and all jaws says is blank blank.
There
are certain files that I can't read such as my notepad files. When I
first
got the computer to come on, jaws said something like the resolution is
very
low and it said to click this balloon, but we can't see any balloon. Any
suggestions? One thing for sure, I can't make this computer any worse
than
it is.
