Near the near bottom of the list in Device Manager, there will be a grouping
for Universal Serial Bus Controllers. You do not want to disable them, that
will not cause Windows to reinstall them. Instead, just remove them by
highlighting each one and pressing the Delete key. Windows should start
reinstalling each one fairly quickly. In fact, it might be hard to know
which ones you already deleted since they come back quickly.

There is just so much stuff in the world that, to me, is devoid of any real
substance, value, and content that I just try to make sure that I am working
on things that matter.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] USB ports & Device Manager
Hi All;
I have a couple of USB ports that are not working. What I want to do is
disable all of my USB ports. When I go into the Device Manager, what are
the USB ports called in there? I'm running XP Home. I definitely don't
want to have a brainfart while in the Device Manager! I just want to
disable the ports & restart the computer so XP will install all the USB
drivers. All help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks much, take care.
Mike
