hello there;

do you have the drivers downloaded to your computer?

if you don't first you need to download them to your computer.

once you have the drivers downloaded, all you need to do is, press enter on
the .exe file.

most likely,
using a dell myself, the driver will be in a folder.

just open and find the .exefile,
 hope this helps.

I'm surprised that the dell techie, didn't offer to hook up to your
computer. anyway, good luck, if you need more help, you can right me
privately.

have a good day.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] How do you install Device Drivers

Dear Friends,
Please do not laugh!
But, I finally found out what kind of FAX / Modem I have in my computer, and
now I want to download the Device Drivers, so I can fax using my Open Book's
FAX option.

But when I do download the Device Drivers, how do I install them?

I say Drivers instead of Driver, because the Dell Technician said there were
2 Device Drivers for this particular FAX / Modem.

Conexant D850 56K v.9x

Then, we lost it, as he wanted me to click on graphical things on the Dell
Support page, and I could not read them, and this guy was a bit ... well
shall we say not used to working with a Blind person using Text to Speech
software, and more or less freaked out!
LOL!
It is not the first time I have had to leave a Technician Support person, as
they were speechless!

LOL!

Well, part of being a Blind computer user I suppose.

Anyway, I know what kind of FAX / Modem I now have, that much I will give
him credit for, but now, I want to try to do this on my own, as dealing with
a "Freaked out Technician" is not really fun, if you know what I mean.
LOL!

Thanks friends!

With Best Regards,
Alan
