Yeah, but, FWIW, that address I sent was a local supplier as such, and those
prices were in south african rands, and weren't too bad as such...<smile>
A looooong time ago, a school friend of mine built his own circuit board,
with LED lights on it, and had it plugged into a socket on his commodore 64
computer, and he'd program them to flash at varying intervals - sort of a
start up look at robotics, but in the one commodore 64 magazine, there was
also a whole series of articles related to automating various aspects of
your house, like turning on lights at certain times, turning on heaters,
stoves, etc. etc., and this was back in the 80s...<smile>

Jacob,
Depends on how you divide up the world, but Arduino seems to be in your
hemisphere, not necessarily closer to you though. *GRIN* The official
boards are made in Italy, and, for some reason their domain is registered
as dot cc, which is the Cocos or Keeling islands, a territory of
Australia.
Looks like the IDE is java based, but the FAQ says you can interact with
it via command line, and can program in C or C++ if so desired.
I'm getting more interested the more I read. Sadly, I have a job that
insists I pay, at least some attention to it, for like 8 hours a day. How
rude.
