Hi Linda. I usually see that message when HP has updated their software automatically. I suppose it might come up if you were switching tasks or something. But it usually is preceeded by a screen asking your permission to download some updates from HP. Their about as frequent as the ones for Windows, itself, maybe two or three times a week. HP does seem to stay on top of things reasonably well.
