Years ago when I was a student in the United Kingdom, the pound sign was typed by holding the shift key and typed 5 on the numbers row. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike & Barbara In Arcadia" <[email protected]>

Hi Yvonne;

When you type, shift + 3, does Jaws say pound or number? The reason I ask
is because, I switched my keyboard settings to UK English in, Regional and
Language Options, in the control panel. After doing so, when I pressed
shift + 3, Jaws still said, number. Also, I apologize if I appeared to be
contradicting you about this pound / pounds keystroke thing. I wasn't
contradicting you, I was merely giving other options. Especially when
British currency never crossed my mind, as I stated earlier in this thread.
Take care.
Mike

 It depends on the keyboard you have. If I press the shift and the number
3
 on the keyboard I get the number sign.
