I am not aware of the recommendation you mentioned, however, i guess
there are many programs that can do the job. I have Kurzweil which is a
paid for program. Yet Recently, I came across a great free program
called Balabolka. This program can convert to Wav and MP3 and other
formats. It supports PDF, html, txt and many other formats. In my
opinion, it is faster and better than Kurzweil in terms of converting. I
converted 55 PDF pages to MP3 in less than 2 minutes. I don't have the
website but I can send you a direct link to download the program.
Contact me off list if you are interested. By the way, the program
supports SAPI 4 and 5, it can use whatever synthesizers you have
installed on your machine.
