John, you are absolutely right.
It's a translation issue.
I've looked at some of the messages David is referring to and I know that
the person is using Google translate.
He writes the message in his native language and just copy/paste the
English translation from Google into the email.
I'm not a native English speaker myself.
I have actually tried writing my messages in Norwegian (which is my native
language) into Google translate but it's far from perfect to say the
least.
The English translation from my Norwegian text is just translated word by
word and it does not take care of proper sentence structure at all.
So this email is written using my own minor English skills and I really do
hope it looks ok.
In my opinion it's looking much better than what Google could do for me
for sure <smile>

The better ones use context to determine which word you mean, Joe, but you
are essentially correct.
I have looked at some of the messages David is referring to, however and
it is probably a translation issue in many cases. Like spell checkers,
there are translators and then there are serious translators. There is a
definite difference.
Then, unfortunately, we have all suffered from a case of fat fingering at
times. But some of these messages don't make much sense at all. I'm not
really sure why.

It's always been my experience that a spell-checker doesn't pick-up a word
which is pronounced the same as another word, but is spelled differently
and has a different meaning. Examples are: there their, and patience
patients.

First off subject lines need to be more carefully monitored and
changed when appropriate. Second I wish to draw your attention to the
fact that there are at least 2 free spell checking programs for
Outlook Express on the programs page and I encourage those of you who
haven't availed yourselves of such an animal to obtain and use one.
I know that English is not the primary language for many of you on
here but the fact is for most it is and sad to say reading some
messages I can't tell if some of you have even heard of the English
language or not, no matter if it is supposed to be your main method
for communication.
Please take more care in composing your messages to the list, there
have been some recently that I didn't even gather a clew what the
purpose for sending it was I am sorry to say.
I'm not trying to be critical, think of this as friendly advice from
the guy who has to read everything that comes across these lists, have
mercy in other words. Also before I forget to mention I learned
Italian at the same time I learned English as a little boy, so if I
can do it the rest of you sure can match my minor skill level in
grasping sentence structure and trust me I never go without a spell
checking program on any system I own.
