Hello David. Jaws will run fine on the machine. She does not need to copy
the authorization. All she needs to do is either contact fs to get her
authorization code. She can also go up to the fs website and there is a
section for checking authorizations. She can then generate one if she
doesn't know hers. All she will need is her unlock coe and serial number.
This can be found on the cd or in the about jaws dialogue box on a computer
she already has authorized. If you need further explanation feel free to
email me at [email protected] and I can explain more clearly. What basically
will happen when she has that code is she will install the latest version of
jaws she is authorized for and choose authorize and follow the promts to
authorize using a key on line. It is pretty self explanatory.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Using a Screen Reader on a Windows 7 Starter
Netbook

Hi.
I have a student who is considering the purchase of a new netbook. My
assumption is that most netbooks are installed with windows 7 Starter. If
this is true I know that this OS is limited to 2 GB of RAM. Considering
this what can she expect from overall performance when using this with a
screen reader. She owns JAWS but is also willing to use NVDA. She is
mainly interested in using her Web browser, email client, word processor and
spreadsheet.
Also, can the contents of the JAWS authorization CD be copied onto a USB
thumb drive so that I can successfully install and activate her copy of
JAWS?

David
