Hi Dan,

Were you in Outlook Express with the address book open when you tried to
paste that link into it? If you were, you can import all your entries back
into it. Or, 1 thing you might try is, close Outlook Express & reboot the
computer. This might re-populate the address book. Let us know what
happens. Take care.
Mike

Thanks for responding; I was going to attack the start menu issue this
morning when luck dealt me the blow of loosing the address book; As far as
the address book itself, it never left; just all of the entries in it,
did.
I know for a fact that I never hit the delete key at anytime. this
happened
when I tried to copy a link into the address book; I pasted it into it and
  all entries disappeared. What next.

  Dan
