[Blind-Computing] avast 6.0

Hi all ,
this question is for all who are using avast 6.0
when doing a manual program update , has anyone experienced that the update 
seems to take forever?
and the only way to make it go faster is turning off Jaws?
any help on this matter will greatly be appreciated.
