I've got the deal where by I can network either read only or read / write directories on windows 7 with XP. It crossed my mind yesterday to try and figure out if it is possible to only share selected directories with certain systems. For example only share a specific directory with my lap top and the same with my XP tower. This would be in effect a further step toward locking down the network. Granted my router has a 20 digit password so anybody who gets in there is pretty sharp so far as that goes. I just wondered is all if that were something possible.
This is probably why they offer entire courses in networking and the fact is I am flying in the face of the unknown. If anybody out there has further information regarding this subject please share it so to speak. I might just post the documentation I already have on the server for others to benefit from.
