When Ninite says it updates MSE, it is probably referring to program updates
not database definition updates.

Hi Rick & Larry,
Thank you both for your input. I wonder why Ninite advertises updating
MSSE
when it doesn't, at least with XP anyway?! I will continue to update
manually to insure that MSSE stays up to date. Ninite did update My
Dropbox! Hot Damn! LOL LOL
Thanks again, take care.

Hi Mike,
I have never seen updates for MSE come in Windows automatic updates in
Windows XP.
They will however, in Windows Vista and Windows 7,
but after that happens, if I go to MSE, and tell it to check for updates,
it
always appears to update again.
I think I would just stick with letting MSE do the updating rather than a
third-party application.

Hi Dan,
Thank you very much for your input. I have Windows updates set to
download,
but let me choose what to install. I have never seen a MSSE download in
any
of the updates. We also have the update automatically option in MSSE
options chosen / selected, but I still have to update manually. We don't
have Windows updates set to download & install automatically because we
don't want a bunch of updates installed that don't have anything to do
with
what programs we run, & possibly that is the reason MSSE does not update.
Thanks again, take care.

It's my understanding that if you turn on windows updates to update
automatically, MSE will update itself every day. You can also set it
up
to
update before an automatically scheduled scan.
