Hi Pete,

We went into our friends' Gmail account and found that a box that is
supposed to send all her email to her Inbox, had gotten unchecked &
subsequently all her email was going into her Spam folder. Naturally we
didn't see this settings error until we had wasted a bunch of time moving
her email from the Spam folder to the InBox! LOL

Thank you very much for your input. I will definitely save your Gmail
experience for future reference. Take care.
Mike

  Hi Mike. I generally access my Gmail account using Outlook Express;
however,
when I use the web interface, I have noticed that in the past several days
I
have had to go to the link for "screen reader users" that says "Basic
HTML."
Once I enter on that link it works just fine. If I don't, I am not able to
navigate to my inbox, contacts or spam.
Interestingly enough, if I don't go to HTML view, I keep seeing the
message
  that says:
"It looks like you have enabled Internet Explorer Compatibility View."
As far as I know, I have done nothing to activate this compatibility view
  mode.
  Pete
