[Blind-Computing] Firefox 3.6's Unsolicited Auto Update

when I opened my portable firefox 3.6 last night, it came up updating 
automatically to the latest 3.6.23 build. While I had intended to put 
in the update myself, I was surprised by the auto-update as i have 
automatic updates turned off. I do not let anything update itself 
without my consent I checked firefox's options and the checkboxes for 
the auto updates were indeed turned off.

Has anyone else experienced this with firefox 3.6?
