I hope this is not the "siilent updating" discussed in reference to
newer firefox versions. i do not want to find myself updated to
firefox 7 or something newer that might not work with my technology.
In light of this, does anyone know if the latest versions of firefox
still work with win 2k? We have a few little old dinosaurs around
that cannot run anything newer than 2k.

when I opened my portable firefox 3.6 last night, it came up
updating automatically to the latest 3.6.23 build. While I had
intended to put in the update myself, I was surprised by the
auto-update as i have automatic updates turned off. I do not let
anything update itself without my consent I checked firefox's
options and the checkboxes for the auto updates were indeed turned off.
Has anyone else experienced this with firefox 3.6?
