I second that, it works great; I also go to file menu/save as and save the emails as .EML that's also supported in OE and Windows Live Mail, then they open in the email clients; this way you can name the files as you wish and save anywhere on an external drive independently on the system one so nothing can get lost then if something happens with the system. You could always go into the file menu and then to save as. I have done this for years and keep a folder with multiple sub folders, on my external, of emails I have collected.
