I also had the same problem or something like it a while ago. A Windows
repair solved it.

Hi All,
A friend, out of the blue , started getting the error message below,
whenever she tries to scan a document or closes Openbook.
obu.exe - Application Error-----The instruction at "0x73babab2" referenced
memory at "0x08393d98". The memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the program
She is unable to use the Openbook program. Does anyone know of a fix/ way
to resolve this problem? She is running XP & Jaws12. All help will be
greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. Take care.
