Sorry, I'm not familiar with shortkeys lite, but, based on the example you
gave, check out autohotkey, at www.autohotkey.com
you can set all kinds of auto replace strings and shortcut keys, plus, it's
free. Who can argue with that.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Replacement for ShortKeys Lite for Use on
Windows7

Hi All,

Has anyone found a replacement for ShortKeys Lite that is accessible with
JAWS 12 and 13 and that will work on 64 bit Windows 7? I have a note that
the free utility many of us enjoyed on XP was put out by Insight Software.
It looks like the company has ShortKeys 3 that isn’t free that will run on
Windows 7. I liked the Lite version so much that I purchased ShortKeys 2,
or whatever the paid version was at the time, but found it didn’t play
nicely with whatever version of JAWS I was using back then, so am a bit
reluctant to spend time trying out the latest incarnation of the paid
version.

ShortKeys Lite is a key extender where, for example, one can type ^st and
one’s full street address will appear instead of having to manually type
the whole thing. There are a bunch of other uses and I miss not having it
on the Win 7 machine, but, as far as I can make out, it isn’t compatible
with Win 7.

I’d cheerfully pay for something similar that is accessible on the new
computer.

Thank you,

Margaret
